Järvsö

Järvsö (slogan: "Sweden's Nearest Alp") is a small town in Ljusdal Municipality, Hälsingland, Gävleborgs län, Sweden, with a population of 1,907 (statistics as of 2004). From Järvsö, people commute to Ljusdal, Färila, Bollnäs, and Gävle.
Järvsö is a tourist town known for its ski slope, Järvsöbacken, and for its zoo, known as Järvzoo, which has an extensive collection of large Nordic animals. There are also several large hotels, including Kramsta Gästgård & Konferens, the only hotel in the region that belongs to the large conference organization Svenska Möten (Swedish Meetings).
