J.V.; born Jennifer Velarde, J.V. is a Mexican-American female rapper from Downey, California. Discovered by Talent Manager Bruce Johnson. Her debut album on Thump Records/Universal Music("Nayba'hood Queen") contained the singles "Nayba'hood Queen" and "Big Girl" which was featured in the New Line Cinema film "Phat Beach". Her material has also been featured in the popular international television show "Touched By An Angel". J.V. is currently the top selling general market, Latin Female rap artist to date. (Soundscan).
