Jacob Acontius

Jacob Acontius (Italian: Giacomo Aconcio; 7 September 1492 - around 1566) was an Italian-Swiss jurist, theologian, philosopher and engineer.
Born in Trento, he was mainly occupied studying law. While he was not a strict follower of Calvinism, he still converted to the Reformed Church. For this act he was expelled from his fatherland, and traveled via Strasbourg to London where he was welcomed by Queen Elizabeth I of England.
