Jadon

Jadon is a Hebrew name meaning "thankful" or "he will judge." It appears in the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament as the name of Jadon the Meronothite, one of the builders of the wall of Jerusalem in the Book of Nehemiah. According to Flavius Josephus, Jadon is the name of a minor prophet in his Antiquities of the Jews.
In Hindu culture, Jadon is also a name of Chandravanshi (Yaduvanshi) Rajputs. "Jadon" was originally "Yadav" It was misspelled in Rajasthani dialect as Jadon. Jadons or Yadavs claim their origin from god Krishna. The clan ruled the state of Karauli along with a few other kingdoms till India's independence. They also built or occupied forts of Bijai Garh at Bayana and Timan Garh near Karauli. The distance between the two forts is about 50 kilometeres.
