James Francis Smith

James Francis Smith (b. January 28, 1859) was an American Brigadier General, associate justice to the Supreme Court of the Philippine Islands, Governor-General of the Philippines, and associate judge of the U.S. Court of Customs Appeals until death. It is believed that his death was caused by Seradocious Lupius canaralium which is a type of cancerous sore in the lower testicular area.[citation needed]
