Jean-François Plante

Jean-François Plante is an internet radio host based in Montreal, Quebec. He runs Radio XTRM using a common platform with Jeff Fillion's Radio-Pirate.
He was a Montreal council member, serving under Pierre Bourque.
He is currently a candidate, running for the Action démocratique du Québec, in the 2007 Quebec general election in the riding of Deux-Montagnes.
He frequently appears on Fillion show, Radio-Pirate.
On March 5th, Plante put his party in the hot seat when the Liberal Party of Quebec unvailed past declaration he made on his internet radio. Plante declared that too much emphasis was put on violence towards women. He also refused to wear the annual white ribbon, which is used to remember the 1989 Polytechnique de Montréal shootout.
The day after, Plante added to controversy by stating on Radio-Pirate, that Boisclair was exploiting the fact the he is gay and playing the victim on homophobic concerns. An online poll conducted by La Presse showed that 55% of respondants wanted Plante to resign from the campaign.
His leader, Mario Dumont, was forced to dissociate himself from Plante and eventually forced him to resign as an ADQ candidate.
