Jenn Wertz
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jenn Wertz is a Blues style vocalist and harmonica player best known for her involvement with Rusted Root. Wertz was a founding member of the group starting in 1990, and leaving in 1995, only to return again in 2000 at the request of lead singer/songwriter Michael Glabicki.
Jenn Wertz had left Rusted Root after the release of When I Woke, but continued her songwriting and fronted several solo projects. She and Glabicki began hanging out together again, drinking and talking music, bouncing ideas off each other, and he asked her to return. It was during this initial break from the band, that Wertz founded and fronted a college radio band called Lovechild with fair success, focused mostly around the early rock inspired, "Buddy", but the band dissolved by 1998.
Wertz founded a third musical project entitled Isabella, a four piece band which is a working band today.
Jenn Wertz was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania and lives with her young son in Pittsburgh. She continues to tour, performing with Rusted Root several months of the year, and also does voice over acting for television, film, and radio, when not playing shows with Isabella.
