Jeno Tihanyi

Dr. Jeno Tihanyi (1936 - March 4, 2007) was a Canadian swim coach inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 2004. He was best known for coaching famed Olympic swimmer Alex Baumann. He was a longtime professor at Laurentian University located in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. He was a professor in Child growth and development in the School of Human Movement as well as a fulltime coach. He was infamous among those who knew him for his unmeasurable intensity and meticulous attention to detail in every minute of practice. He was an incredible mentor to his swimmers and always had an open door. He had a great sense of humor and will be sorely missed by all whom he mentored to great personal success.
