From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jim Cherry was the bassist in Strung Out, guitar player in the band Pulley, and bassist/vocalist in the band Zero Down. His life was cut short when he died on July 7, 2002 from a congenital heart condition, originally believed to be a drug overdose.
Cherry's death left a hole in the punk community. Strung Out dedicated the song "Swan Dive" on their album Exile in Oblivion to him, while Pulley dedicated the album Matters to him, and the song "Thanks". He is also mentioned in the Nofx song "Doornails" from their 2006 album Wolves in Wolves Clothing, an ode to other fallen members in the punk community.
