Jimmy Collins (basketball)

Jimmy Collins (b. 1947) is the head coach of the men's basketball team at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Prior to that, he was an assistant coach at the University of Illinois. He played college ball at New Mexico State and had a brief professional career with the Chicago Bulls of the NBA and the Carolina Cougars of the ABA. Raised in Syracuse, NY. Well known for his problems with Bruce Pearl, then coach of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
