John Arbuthnott, 9th Viscount of Arbuthnott, JP. Born Arbuthnott 4 June 1806. Died at Arbuthnott House 26 May 1891.
Educated Corpus Christi College, Oxford (matriculated 28 June 1824). Entered the army, 1825; Lieutenant, 1826; Captain 1830; retired as Major on half-pay, 1850. Deputy Lieutenant for Kincardineshire.
Married at Cortachy Castle, Angus, 5 June 1837, Lady Jean (or Jane) Graham Drummond Ogilvy (born Midlothian 27 February 1818; died 4 March 1902), eldest daughter of David Ogilvy, 4th Earl of Airlie (born 16 December 1785; died 20 August 1849) by Clementina (died 1 September 1835), only child and heiress of Gavin Drummond.
