John Grahame (born August 31, 1975, in Denver, Colorado) is a goaltender in the National Hockey League for the 2006 Stanley Cup Champion Carolina Hurricanes.

John Grahame, drafted by the Boston Bruins, played in net for the Providence Bruins for the 1998-1999 season. He set an AHL record that year with 19 consecutive wins^{[citation needed]}and led them to a Calder cup victory with a 5-1 win over the Rochester Americans. His coach back then was Peter Laviolette, now his current coach with the Hurricanes.

Grahame has played with the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL, and was the backup goaltender for the Stanley Cup-winning Lightning team in 2004. He became Tampa Bay's starting goalie in the 2005-06 NHL season and was expected to bring the same caliber to the team as he did back in 2004; however, Grahame failed to demonstrate a consistency in his playing skill, often having a shut out one night, and then letting 5 or 6 goals past him the next night^{[citation needed]}. He was blasted by Lightning coach John Tortorella after consecutive poor starts that contributed to the Lightning being eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs^[1]. He signed a 2 year deal worth 2.8 million dollars with the Carolina Hurricanes in July 2006. Held off-season workouts in Las Vegas this summer with his trainers Todd Floyd and Jason Toohey. John is regarded by many employees of the Palms Hotel/Casino as their favorite guest due to his down to earth fun loving attitude coupled with his extreme genorosity. The Palms also hosted his Stanley Cup victory party after winning the cup with Tampa Bay Lightning. The party is still regarded as one of the best individual cup celebrations of all time. Even socialite Paris Hilton was turned away at the door^{[citation needed]}.

He is the son of former NHL goaltender Ron Grahame. They remain the only father-son goaltending combination ever to play for the same NHL team, and John is part of the only mother-son combination to have both names engraved on the Stanley Cup. His mother, Charlotte, was a member of the front office of the 2001 Colorado Avalanche.

Grahame played on the 2006 US Olympic Ice Hockey Team. He started the first game of the Olympic tournament for the US, surrendering three goals in a 3-3 tie vs. Latvia.
