John Lambton, 3rd Earl of Durham

John George Lambton, 3rd Earl of Durham KG GCVO PC (June 19, 1855 – September 18, 1928) was the grandson of the famous British statesman and colonial administrator, John Lambton, 1st Earl of Durham.
He married Ethel Elizabeth Louisa Milner on October 28, 1882, but they did not have any children and Lord Lambton's titles passed to his twin brother, Frederick. He was made a Knight of the Garter in 1909 and sworn of the Privy Council in 1911.
From 1919 till 1928, he served as chancellor of the University of Durham.
