[edit] Current Status
I currently attend York University full-time, where I also teach cultural studies.
[edit] Background
I am a 26 year old graduate student, with a previous degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto. My current research focuses on the forgotten works of Jean Piaget, which has relevance to teaching, special ed, AI research, and (more generally) the philosophy of science and epistemology. I also have an interest in systems approaches to the assessment of intelligence and creativity. This has led me away from psychology on occasion and into the history of biology. I can read and translate French, although I do not speak it as well as I would like.
In my other life, I occasionally work part-time as a manager and consultant in R&D. I have rarely made any money at it, though, so it's really just an excuse to work on cool projects while paying for school.
I have also taught at the undergraduate level in psychology and cultural studies.
[edit] Politics
I think of myself as "informed" and "interested." If I were American, I think I would be a Democrat. I am Slightly Left (|3.4| out of |10|) and Slightly Libertarian (|4.3| out of |10|).

[edit] Worldview
You scored as Existentialist. Existentialism emphasizes human capability. There is no greater power interfering with life and thus it is up to us to make things happen. Sometimes considered a negative and depressing world view, your optimism towards human accomplishment is immense. Mankind is condemned to be free and must accept the responsibility.

[edit] Contributions
Although I am currently reworking this section, I still welcome constructive criticism. If you have some, however, please understand that I may not be able to respond immediately: my school schedule sometimes prevents me from returning mail as quickly as I would like.
[edit] Tasks
- Charles Peirce: This article needs a lot of help. The POV is way too idiosyncratic and the style is offputting for a general audience, to say the least. You will have to be willing to go to the mat, however, with the primary author, who has been banned but has reappeared under different names.
- Desert: At least narrow it down to being in philosophy, ethics, or morality. An actual article at any of these three would be nice, too.
- Cesare Cremonini: created "start-level", would need new eyes and hands.
- Fatalism: Stub-like. Needs to be cleaned up and expanded
- Aristotelianism: Needs to be expanded
- Logical argument: Needs work to be of use
- Sign / Symbol: Introductions contain too much technical jargon
- Catholic Probabilism: Pretty nearly straight from the old Catholic Encyclopedia
- Counterfactuals: Needs fuller and more accurate summary of main theories, as well as indication of philosophical importance in other topics, notably causation and inference.
- Human agency: Expand, correct, and reference. Any support for altering the name?
- Being and Nothingness: An Essay on Phenomenological Ontology Sartre's magnum opus, barely more than a stub
- Übermensch: desperately needs knowledgable attention
- Kant's Groundwork: re-write, expand
- Existentialism: in dire need of a cleanup and reworking of information
- African philosophy: needs a lot of work!
