Julie Mellor

Dame Julie Thérèse Mellor, DBE (b. 1957) is a former Commissioner of the Commission for Racial Disability and the National Consumer Council, and a former Commissioner of the Commission for Racial Equality. She resides in Richmond, Surrey, England.
She was knighted in 2006 for her services to Equal Opportunities.
In 2005 Mellor announced that she was stepping down as Chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission after 6 years, in order to become a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in July 2005.
Prior to her appointment as Chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission in February 1999, Julie Mellor was Corporate Human Resources Director for British Gas and has 20 years experience of human resources management in a wide range of environments, from the Greater London Council to Shell and TSB.
She was appointed Chair of Fathers Direct and is a board member of the Employers' Forum on Disability and the National Consumer Council.
