[edit] Movie Character
Klaatu the movie character was based on the character of the same name in the Harry Bates story Farwell to the Master. I am in favor of having separate Klaatu (character) and Klaatu (band) pages, as the character Klaatu is significant enough to have his own page (especially in light of the popularity of the Gort the robot and the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still). I can write the Klaatu character page, but I don't know how to rename a node.

[edit] Band named after character
Klaatu the band was named after the character in the movie. Should the article on the band be moved to a new article called "Klaatu (band)"? soulpatch
[edit] First Album name
There is a potential controversy over the name of the first album. The band's website titles it "3:47 EST", while some Capitol releases call it "Klaatu". I generally would favor the band's decision in these cases.

[edit] Goodnight Vienna
Goodnight Vienna was released in 1974 according to the AMG, and so it could not possibly be a reference to the band Klaatu. Kouban 23:54, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
- I believe the article is suggesting that some people believed the band name was referencing the album, thus creating a spurious Beatles link (when in fact they were time travellers referencing the later "News of the World" album by Queen! j/k.)LessHeard vanU 22:24, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Ringo Starr was not trying to reference Klaatu, he'd never heard of them. After the release of 3:47 EST, there was a rumor going around that Klaatu was really the Beatles, and that Ringo's album had foreshadowed it.
