The Kurdistan national football team is the official football team for the Kurdistan. They are not affiliated with FIFA or Asian Football Confederation, and therefore cannot compete for the FIFA World Cup or Asian Cup. The Kurdistan federation attended a meeting of the New Federation Board in June 2006[1] but did not become a member. A team representing Iraqi Kurdistan lost a friendly match 3-0 to the Iraq U-23 national team.
