Kurenai's top-secret mission ~A promise with the Third~ is episode 205 of the anime series Naruto.

Naruto gets to talk to Yakumo about her history with Kurenai. Yakumo then reveals that Kurenai didn't want her to become a shinobi, but she wanted to prove to her parents that she could become a jounin. Naruto then learns from Yakumo that the Third Hokage and Kurenai planned to seal her powers, as if her powers were released in full, they would destroy Konoha. It is for this reason that Yakumo belives the Third Hokage had her parents killed in a staged fire.

- Kurenai used a sealing techinique similar to the one Kakashi had used on Sasuke.
- Kurenai used pain to release herself from Unkai's genjutsu, just like what Sasuke did against Orochimaru in episode 28.
- Gai does the move: Konoha Full Kick Soccer, which will only appear in the filler.
- The new ending gives a small teaser as to what Naruto's outfit looks like after the time skip. This symbolizes that the long line of fillers will soon be coming to an end.
- This episode is part of a 90-minute special filler commemorating the move to Thursdays.
