Lambert cylindrical equal-area projection

In cartography, the Lambert cylindrical equal-area projection, or Lambert cylindrical projection, is a cylindrical, equal area map projection. The invention of this projection is attributed to the Alsatian mathematician Johann Heinrich Lambert in 1772.[1]
