Lane Twitchell
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Lane Twitchell (born 1967 in Salt Lake City, Utah) is a contemporary visual artist. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
Twitchell was raised in Ogden. The beginings of his project addressed his Mormon upbringing, drawing from the American religion's history, mythology and iconography. As the artist's work has expanded he has sought to address the larger realm of American religious fundamentalism.
Additionally, Twitchell's work addresses themes of middle-class American consumerism, architecture and politics. And occasionally contrasts those ideas to the realms of high-end New York art world esthetics.
