Talk:Langham Hotel Hong Kong
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is not apparent that this hotel is notable enough to merit its own article. As precedents show, hotels of no particular interest are considered tourist info and as such should be placed on WikiTravel. The current article is also in clear violation of WP:NPOV and I will remove the hotelcruft. Pascal.Tesson 23:36, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Advert tag
One editor seems intent on removing the advert tag I put up. It should stay as long as
- contains things like "stunning modern glass sculpture", "adds drama to the spacious hotel lobby" and "culinary masterpieces" to name a few.
- contains information of little or no encyclopedic value such as "en-suite, broadband internet access, plasma TV and DVD surround-sound home theatre".
- is pretty much indistinguishable from a hotel brochure.

Extra note: if someone's thinking "if we remove this then there will be nothing left" then I think they're more or less right. This is why precedents have established that hotel information is usually best suited for Wikitravel. Pascal.Tesson 00:29, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] removal of advert tag
Ok. So I have gone ahead and removed the fluff content. Please remember that the information put in here should be verifiable, neutral which, among other things, means that information should be given due weight. In particular, unless you find a solid independent source that the Deli is the first deli in Hong Kong then don't bother adding it. This article is not a vehicle for pimping this hotel. However historical information on the hotel for instance would be more than welcome. Pascal.Tesson 20:05, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
