Latrobe City Council (formerly La Trobe Shire) is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the eastern part of the state. It includes the cities of Moe, Morwell and Traralgon; and the towns of Boolarra, Churchill, Yallourn North. It has an area of 1,395 square kilometres. In 2001 it had a population of 70,600.
The Head Offices for Latrobe City are located in Morwell, which is located geographically in the middle of Latrobe City.
The city serves as a commercial centre for the Gippsland region.

The city was created as Latrobe Shire in 1994 following amalgamation of Victorian Councils and was accorded the status of a City by the Victorian Government in 2000. It is now home to some of Australia's biggest coal power stations including:

- Hazelwood Power Station
- Morwell power station
- Yallourn Power Station
