Le téléphone sonne

Le téléphone sonne (The phone is ringing) is a current affairs programme on the French generalist public radio network France Inter. First broadcast in 1978, and currently on air between between 19.20 and 20.00 on Tuesdays to Fridays, the programme consists of a studio debate between invited specialists on a selected item in the news, to which listeners contribute by phoning in their questions and opinions (hence the title). The programme's main presenter since 1984 has been Alain Bédouet.
