Leon Barnett is an English footballer, he plays in defence and is a footballer for Luton Town, he was born 30 November 1985.
Leon is a graduate of the successful Luton academy and, like many other of their squad members, was signed from their academy. Leon couldn't force himself in the Luton side to start off with, so when Mike Newell sent the fledging defender on loan to non league team, Aylesbury United it seemed like a poor move, but it paid dividends. Although Leon took time to adapt to the Championship at times during the 2005/06, most people could see his potential, and he is fulfilling this potential during the 2006/07 season. Leon has performed well over the season, his aerial abilities are exceptional and he was reportedly subject to a £3,000,000 bid from Reading FC during the January transfer window.
Leon has played left-back, right-back, center-half, centre-midfield and has also been put up-front by Mike Newell before. He scored his first career goal at home to Leicester City FC on the opening day of the 2006/07 season, live on Sky Sports.
