Liang Wenfu

Liang Wenfu (Liang Wern Fook) is one of the pivotal figures in the xinyao (Singapore Chinese folk) movement in the 1980s to 1990s. He is a singer-songwriter, and his first song was written in 1981 for a concert at Hwa Chong Junior College. His first commercial song, xie yi shou ge gei ni (A Song for You) was released in 1984 on the hai die (Ocean Butterflies) label.
He has written television serial theme songs for the then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation, and for Cantonese/Mandarin popstars such as Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, Leon Lai, Tony Leung, Alex To, Eric Moo, Kit Chan, and Stephanie Sun.
He is the Assistant Professor (Adjunct) with the Division of Chinese, Nanyang Technological University, and the Language Consultant for HNL Language Centre.
