Lichfield City railway station

Lichfield City railway station serves the city of Lichfield, in Staffordshire, England. It is situated towards the northern end of the Birmingham Cross-City Line. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by Central Trains.

The station opened in 1849, on the South Staffordshire Railway's line from Lichfield Trent Valley to Wallsall and Dudley. This later became part of the London and North Western Railway. Services to Birmingham began in 1884, when a branch to Sutton Coldfield opened, connecting with an earlier LNWR line.

Passenger trains northwards via Trent Valley station to Burton upon Trent ceased in 1965, along with trains to Walsall, so Lichfield City became the northern terminus of the line from Birmingham. This later became part of the Cross-City Line. In 1988, the line was extended back to Trent Valley. Later to fall under the auspices of the LMS, Lichfield City has retained considerable character. ^[1]

- 2 call at Blake Street, Butlers Lane, Four Oaks, Sutton Coldfield, Wylde Green, Chester Road, Erdington, Gravelly Hill, Aston, Birmingham New Street, Five Ways, University, Selly Oak, Bournville, Kings Norton and Northfield
- 2 call at all of these stations plus Shenstone before Blake Street
2 tph to Lichfield Trent Valley

Saturdays

2 tph to Longbridge, calling at all stations as per the second layout above
2 tph to Redditch, calling at all stations as per the second layout to Longbridge until Aston, when it calls at Duddeston before Birmingham New Street, then all stations to Longbridge, and then Barnt Green and Alvechurch
2 tph to Lichfield Trent Valley

Sundays

2 tph to Redditch as above
2 tph to Lichfield Trent Valley
