[edit] Episode recap
Jon refuses to let Garfield sleep all day, so he pushes him outside. Soon after, a filmmaker named Federico Fettuccini rides by in his limousine, and he (and his yesmen) agree that Garfield would be the perfect cat to star in his next movie.
Jon and Garfield go to the film studio the next day, where Garfield learns that he will actually be a stunt double for a cat named Fluffy. The first scene has a little girl worrying that something bad will happen to Fluffy and her; then a thug begins to push a grand piano out the window on top of them. Then Mr. Fettuccini blows a whistle, which instructs an assistant to bring Garfield in in place of Fluffy; the piano lands on Garfield soon after.
In the next scene, the girl worries about a shark coming after Fluffy and her as they are out canoeing. Garfield is then brought in again, and just as he picks up an oar, a shark comes after him, which Mr. Fettuccini reveals to Jon is real rather than mechanical. Garfield then finds the script and discovers what the next scene is, and he decides to do something about it.
Garfield pours honey on the seat of Mr. Fettuccini’s chair and then steps into the scene; Mr. Fettuccini doesn’t notice, sits down in the chair and commences the scene. The girl worries that she and Fluffy will be attacked by a bear; then Garfield is brought in. The bear starts moving toward him until he smells the honey, and instead he chases Mr. Fettuccini. The assistant then informs Jon that the movie is over and Garfield is fired. Garfield then sees Fluffy being served a large meal, so he blows the whistle, which makes the assistant take Fluffy away and seat Garfield down to eat it.
[edit] Notes
- Odie does not appear in this episode.
- During his song, Garfield envisions winning the A-cat-o-me Award (which is shaped like a mouse), an obvious parody of the Academy Award.
[edit] Trivia
- When Garfield first appears on the red carpet, his nose appears black.
