- Hakeem "The Dream" Olajuwon (1963-), Won two NBA titles with the Houston Rockets. 1994 NBA MVP, an Olympic Gold Medalist, and one of NBA's 50 greatest players. Arguably one of the best centers in NBA history. Olajuwon is the all-time league leader in total blocked shots with 3,830. Olajuwon was the 1st overall pick in the 1984 draft.
- Michael Olowokandi (born April 3, 1975 in Lagos, Nigeria), nicknamed "The Kandi Man", is a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association, also was the 1st overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft taken by the Los Angeles Clippers.
