[edit] International Career
Lucas made his debut for Brazil on October 07, 2006 against Kuwait club, Al-Kuwait. Brazil won the match 4-0 and Lucas made his appearance in the second half. However, this appearance did not count as his first cap as this match was not considered as official friendly match by FIFA.
Lucas is presently captain of the Under-20 Brazilian team playing the 2007 South American Youth Championship.
He is widely regarded as a promising player in Brazil and a move to Europe is his most probable destination.
