[edit] FAQs
- First Madden game to showcase no passing windows
- Past Championship teams and All-Franchise teams were not included.
- In the Sega Genesis version, if the player presses "B,A,C,A,C" at the title screen, a clip of Madden saying "POW!" will play, and the user will be able to access the Carolina Panthers and the Jacksonville Jaguars, even though both teams did not debut until the following season. Both teams consisted of unnamed players all rated at "99" except for the offensive lineman, who were rated at "92".
- This was the first Madden game to feature the actual names of most NFL players, and not just their numbers. Player stats were also tracked individually both in-game, and throughout a season.
