Margaret May

Margaret Ann May (born 30 June 1950), Australian politician, has been a Liberal Party of Australia member of the Australian House of Representatives since October 1998, representing the Division of McPherson, Queensland. She was born in Baa, Fiji, and was educated at Seaforth TAFE College in Sydney. She was a financial administrator with the New South Wales Department of Education 1982-88 and an electorate secretary before entering politics.
Mrs May has become known recently for displaying her disappointment in being passed over for promotion to the ministry in her local newspaper The Gold Coast Bulletin.
She will be challenged at the 2007 Federal Election by popular local Councillor Eddy Saroff.
