Markdale Majors
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An entry which competed in the Central Ontario Hockey League juvenile division during the mid-to-late 1960s. Many star players developed here went on to become the core of Markdale, Ontario's entry of the Senior C.O.H.L. until the club folded in the 1970s.
Years later Barry Ward, Bruce Ward, Al Ward and Bob Timmins christened their entry in the Markdale Semi-Pro Hockey League with the name Markdale Majors. When that loop folded some years later, the Majors competed in the Markdale Oldtimers Hockey League. Sharing many players with Wareham Pork Producers of the Flesherton Semi-Pro Hockey League, the club was eventually renamed Wareham and retains this name today.
