Marty The Monster

Marty the Monster was a fictional monster character on Australian television show The Early Bird Show during the late 1980s.

In an episode on the show the producers decided to hold a wrestling match between Marty and a female red kangaroo. The kangaroo never allowed Marty to get on his feet or try to fight back. The costume actor in the suit nearly suffered death from the kangaroo's choking hold on the head of the costume. It remains as one of the more memorable moments of the show and the footage of the "wrestling match" has been shown on numerous reality video series in America.[citation needed]
