Master of Arts in History
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Master of Arts in History (MA) covers the full range of human experience: the arts and sciences, politics and the spread of political ideas, economic and technological change, and the development of communities and cultures. It is designed to guide students through the fields and methodologies used by historians. Master’s students may select programs in United States or modern European history and other parts of World history. The Master of Arts program in history stresses research, writing, and historical analysis.
The M.A. program teaches students how to make history come alive outside the classroom and guides students to careers in museums, government, business, and nonprofit groups. This program is for students interested in history but not interested in traditional teaching positions, or for those students planning to pursue traditional teaching positions who also wish to broaden their approach to researching and presenting history and gain additional marketable skills.
