Matador (song)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Matador (translated as Killer) is a song written by Vicentico, the lead singer of the Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, a rock band from Argentina. It was first released in the LFC's 1993 album Vasos Vacíos.
The song is about repression during the years of military juntas across Latin America. It describes a military leader in hiding after the return to democracy. The song references Víctor Jara, a Chilean folksinger and supporter of the Allende government whom was assassinated shortly after the Chilean coup of 1973.
