Melattur is a panchayat town in Thanjavur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is famous as a place of origin of the Melattur style of Bharatanatyam founded by Mangudi Dorairaja Iyer.

There is a place in kerala state too with the same name, Melattur. It is in malappuram district of kerala, 16 kms away from town of Perinthalmanna.
