Microsoft Calendar (officially titled Calendar) was a personal organiser program distributed with Microsoft Windows from version 1.01 until Windows 3.11. It was superseded by the calendars in Microsoft Schedule+, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Works. However, these are all add-on programs, and a basic Windows installation did not include a calendar after Windows 3.11.
With the release of Windows Vista, this situation has changed. It includes Windows Calendar, a much more sophisticated iCal-compatible calendar.
