Mike Walling, (b. July 8, 1950) was born in Salford, Lancashire, England, UK.
He began his career as an English teacher at the notorious Holland Park School. In the mid-1990s, whilst still a teacher, he won a British TV talent contest called New Faces with a comedy double act called "Walling and Lyle." He immediately quit teaching and embarked on launching his new career in comedy. Unfortunately, within a year, his partner Lyle died of a heart attack. This created an initial set back, and Walling initially struggled on his own performing in TV commercials. Then in the 1980s he bounced back to stardom both featuring in and scriptwriting a number of TV comedy shows and films.
He also writes lyrics for the R J Wagsmith Band.
