Matthew JA Wood is Fellow and Tutor in Medicine at Somerville College in Oxford. He was appointed to this position in 1994 and is currently the senior medical tutor in the College. He teaches pre-clinical medical students in the College in the subject areas of Anatomy, Cell Biology, Genetics and Neuroscience.
He is based in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics in the University of Oxford where he is also University Lecturer in Biomedical Science (also since 1994). His research is in the area of nucleic acid based gene therapy for neuromuscular diseases such as muscular dystrophy and Parkinson's disease. See web pages at http://users.ox.ac.uk/~mjawood.
