Monitor Magazine (Ottawa)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Monitor is a free computer magazine that has been distributed in the Ottawa region since August 1993. 36,000 copies of the magazine get printed each month with an average of over 35,000 reaching people's hands, of which at least two people read each copy. The magazine is a very limited distribution, though it reaches locations on the outskirts and even outside of Ottawa such as Hull/Gatineau. Monitor is distributed freely from racks in computer stores, malls, supermarkets and other places. Monitor magazine also covers a wide variety of topics such as emerging technology, hardware and software issues/topics, Windows, Linux and Mac sections. There is a little bit for everybody. The magazine itself is fueled by Ads in the printed version but this in itself isn't bad because they are fairly avoidable if you do not wish to see them, but they are an acceptable place to look for PC and PC component price comparisons. Monitor also reviews at least one computer game per month.
