Monte Carlo Tennis Academy
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Monte Carlo Tennis Academy (MCTA) is an elite, exclusive tennis academy. It is the only academy in the world that offers a full touring schedule
The MCTA prides itself on choosing its players based purely on merit
The MCTA’s mission is to discover, train and manage the best junior tennis players in the world and develop them to become top professional players
The MCTA is based at the Monte Carlo Country Club (MCCC), the home of the prestigious Masters Series tournament, won in 2006 by Rafael Nadal
No more than ten players will ever be part of the MCTA squad, this will ensure that the MCTA retains its exclusivity
The selected players will be targeted from the age of 16+
For seven weeks of the year the MCTA trains at the MCCC but for the rest of the year the Academy maintains a touring status – a key and unique component of the MCTA as it is imperative for the team to learn to live and play the Tour whilst getting in tune with the rhythm and demands of Tour life
