Moreno Torricelli was born in Erba, Italy on the 23rd January 1970. He made his debut in Serie A on 13th September 1992 in a 4-1 win for Juventus against Atalanta.
Moreno's tale is a true rags to riches story. He was a factory worker who played for a hobby for Caratese (an amateur soccer team) and his luck would change thanks to a friendly match played against Juventus. In July 1992 he was called up in the preseason training squad and then coach Giovanni Trapattoni was impressed by Moreno's determination and character on the field that resulted in him being purchased by Juventus for a few million lira.
He then quickly became a permanet starter in his first season and went onto play in the Uefa Cup winning side that beat Borussia Dortmund. A player with a lot of heart and determination, he was able to command all the roles in the Juventus defence but his favorite role was on the right flank.
He was a member of Italy's World Cup 1998 squad, but he did not play in any matches. He had 10 caps for the Italy national football team.
