Mr. Game & Watch (Mr.ゲーム＆ウォッチ Misutā Gēmu ando Wocchi?) is a fictional character in the Game & Watch series, a line of hand held static LCD video games.

[edit] Characteristics
Mr. Game & Watch is a resident of Super Flat World, and has an easily recognizable frame by frame style of movement. Mr. Game & Watch is equipped with a multitude of skills, since he has successfully tried almost every job in the world: juggling, cooking, exterminating, treasure-searching, defending a fort from Native Americans, parachuting, being a fireman, or even a judge.

He is one of Nintendo's first video game creations (having premiered in April 28, 1980). Before the Game Boy or the Famicom was introduced, the Game & Watch series appeared as individual timepieces. His appearance in Super Smash Bros. Melee finally yielded him his name, as prior to this he was an anonymous protagonist. In addition, and to the confusion of some, he (or perhaps look-a-likes) can be found in many Wario games, including the new WarioWare, Inc. games. Mr. Game & Watch also manages the Present section of Game & Watch Gallery 4, together with Mario. He can talk in this game.

Mr. Game & Watch is normally a solid black color; his palette swaps are Red, Blue and Green.
Interestingly enough, Mr. Game and Watch is a flat, two dimensional character. His smooth 3D form has been revealed by people changing characters movesets using the Action Replay, in which Mr. Game and Watch has been seen moving smoothly and fluidly as he performs Mario's moves.
When Mr. Game & Watch is grabbed and is being thrown, his movement changes from his trademark frame movement to the standard animations (much smoother than his own animations) used for any character when being thrown. This is most noticeable when Donkey Kong carries Mr. Game & Watch on his back. It is also quite noticeable when Mr. Game & Watch is holding the Donkey Kong hammer item when he switches directions.
[edit] Flat Zone
Mr. Game & Watch also has an accompanying stage named "Flat Zone", a location in the larger "Superflat World", which looks like a Game & Watch Helmet system, although the name has been changed to say "Smash Bros.". Sometimes tools such as buckets and wrenches will fall from the sky, and as the real system is, you can see everything's "outline" that is on the stage. Other obstacles reference Manhole and Oil Panic. Also, if you look closely, you'll find that any character from Melee will appear to be two-dimensional in this stage, a rather amusing Easter egg.
