MTA Subways

MTA Subways is a proposed structure responsible for operations of the MTA New York City Transit's subways and MTA Staten Island Railway.
The merger would be part of a general restructuring of the MTA's transit operations to group like services of its various agencies (railroads, subways, buses) into new corporations with a single operating focus. Since this would require a dissolution of existing corporations and the formation of new ones, legislation is required at the state level, which as of April 2006, has failed passage of the legislature.
