Murray (bicycles)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company was an American manufacturer of low-cost bicycles. The company had been founded in Cleveland ohio, but later moved to Brentwood tennessee.[1]
Murray bicycles featured one-piece steel cranksets and welded steel tubing characteristic of low priced American utility bicycles, and were commonly sold in department stores rather than bicycle shops.
Aside from bicycles, this company manufactured various lawn equipment, most notably lawn tractors and walk-behind push mowers. Murray went bankrupt in 2004, at which point engine manufacturer Briggs & Stratton acquired the Murray brand name for use on lawn equipment.
