- There is no block on this account, and I see no sign that there ever has been one. That says to me that the most likely cause is colateral damage from a block of the underlying IP. I would need to know that IP in order to get the block cleared for you. I think, from the one time I got hit by a similar situation, that the block message you get when you try to edit should tell you the IP that is showing up as blocked. Post that IP here, and I'll look into why it was blocked. If it's a shared IP, as appears likely, then we can get the block removed, and get a notice on the IP that it is shared. - TexasAndroid 21:15, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
I don't know who is vandalizing the articles, but I know it wasn't me! It might be someone else, but I don't have a clue who it is! RexNL keeps blocking me for messing up articles I never even go to!! It's really annoying!
- It's not you. There is no block on this account, as I mention above. It's the raw IP below the account. It's likely a shared IP. Especially if you are editing from some sort of public place, like a school, college, libray, etc. The admins like me, however, can do nothing for you unless you tell us your IP. You should see it in the block message you get when you try to edit. You need to either list that IP here, or Email it to an admin. We cannot access your IP, only you can. And without that info, there's not way to know what IP to check out for possible unblocking. - TexasAndroid 15:25, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Okay, fine! my IP is 69.74.19.226!
- Ok. Several things.
- The blocked tag is to get the attention of an admin. Once you have that attention, there's no real need to keep adding it back every time you replied. :)
- The IP was serving a one month block, that was set to expire in a couple of hours. I've gone ahead and unblocked it a little early for you.
- Check out User talk:69.74.19.226. The IP has been used for quite a bit of vandalism. Assuming you know what the IP is for (which school, college, etc), you would do yourself a favor in preventing further blocks of the IP in reporting to the system admins for your location the ongoing vandalism. We have records of the exact times of every vandalism, so that could be used to try to match up with the user who is doing the vandalism.
- Also, it would be nice to get a shared IP tag on the IP's talk page. Shared IPs are handled differently by most admins, to minimize this sort of colatteral blocking of good editors. If you let me know what the IP belongs to, I can get the tag added.
- Next time the IP is blocked for vandalism, the fastest way to get action is generally to use the E-mail this user link for the blocking admin. Realize that it's not you who is being accused of vandalism, but let the blocking admin know that you are being effected by the block.
- Anyway, you should be good to go now. Sorry for all the trouble. - TexasAndroid 15:54, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank you all so much!!!
