MX-774

MX-774 was the United States' first attempt at an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). Built by Consolidated-Vultee (Convair) for the US military, the missile design was derived from the Nazi V-2 ballistic missile, used during World War II as a terror weapon against the Allied forces.
Experience gained developing and testing this missile later led to Convair's development of the Atlas ICBM, which descendants still exist and operate today, delivering spacecraft and objects into Earth orbit.
