[edit] Episode overview
The Janitor decides to give J.D a new nickname, and eventually comes up with Scooter, because, as he says, "its short for scooter pies, and I hate scooter pies." J.D's relationship with Nurse Carla evolves as he begins to out-distance her medical knowledge while Turk trembles when he learns that his secret lunch spot was claimed years ago by the territorial Dr. Kelso. Elsewhere, Dr. Cox gives Elliot the evil eye when she won't discharge a troublesome patient.
In the beginning when the Janitor is trying to think of a nickname for J.D., he comes up with a few revolving around the word whiny. One of them is "Whiny Dancer", a play off the Elton John song Tiny Dancer.
