Ndukwe Kalu (born August 3, 1975 in Baltimore, Maryland) is an American football defensive end for the Houston Texans of the NFL. He attended John Marshall High School in San Antonio, Texas and graduated in 1993. He was originally selected with the 22nd pick of the fifth round of the 1997 NFL Draft out of Rice University. He has also played for the Washington Redskins and the Philadelphia Eagles. Kalu is of Nigerian descent.
Kalu's full name is Ndukwe Kalu.
One of Kalu's reasons for entering the NFL was that his younger cousin who was born overseas, Steven Ehui, who was in need of an ear surgery. Kalu, who was getting his Medical Degree decided to skip his Senior year for NFL Draft eligibility.
Ehui has made a full recovery since, and keeps in touch with his hero who was recently picked up by the Houston Texans.
