Nadia is a district of the state of West Bengal, in the north east of the Republic of India.
- Krishnanagar is one of the important towns of this district. The Chairman of this Municipality is Mr. Uday Mitra, Vice-Chairman Mr. Asim Saha. It is dominated by the Congress and District Magistrate Mr. Rajesh Panday.
- Kalyani is another important town of this district. It was identified (and named) by Dr. B. C. Roy to act as an alternative to the city of Kolkata, from which it is about 50 km away.
- Tehatta is another important subdivisional town. It is the newest subdivision in the district of Nadia.
- Debnathpur is a traditional village very near the Bangla-Desh border. Its High School is Debnathpur Sarat Sarkar High School. And it consists of Khal and Bill. Communication road Krishnagar to Karimpur road.
- Betai The High School is Betai High School.
- Haripur The High School is Mobarakpur School. And it is very near the Bangla-Desh border.
- Najirpur The High School is Nagirpur High School.
- Ranaghat Unarguably the most important of the towns is Ranaghat, situated 74 kilometers north of Calcutta
